iqInterface FTDI chip configuration manual

IMPORTANT!!!

The FTDI chip is preconfigured by manufacture and next changes are not recommended for user. Changing FTDI setting manually can lead device to malfunctioning

FTDI chip is used in iqInterface Product as USB PHY transceiver.

During the production phase, FTDI chip should be configured with correct parameters to provide correct functionality and maximum performance.

As long as iqInterface is a self-powered gadget, it can use as much current as it needs during normal operation and USB suspend as it has its own power supply.

The following FTDI chip options should be configured:

  • The power descriptor in the internal MTP memory of the FT230X should be programmed to a value of zero (self-powered).

  • CBUS3 pin should be configured as VBUS_Sense# in the internal MTP memory and used not to force current down the USB bus when the USB host or hub controller is powered down.

The following values should be assigned:

  • CBUS C3 pin = VBUS_Sense#.
  • Power Option = self-powered.

"FT_Prog" Software tool used to accomplish this task. Use the following guide for configuration:
